Instead of waiting in a music retail store showroom, our clients enjoy a spacious, professional with comfortable chairs, we also provide large observation windows on every door so that you can watch your child's lesson while you wait. Or if you prefer you can sit in on their lesson anytime you like.

Our rooms are stocked with everything you need for music lessons, including Viola, Cello, Mandolin, Guitar and more. All you need to bring is your instrument. We have spent thousands of dollars on our studio to offer soundproofing and large observation windows.

Feel free to "Bring Your Own Device" to your lesson in addition to your instrument!

7. Early morning and lunch time lessons for home schoolers, retirees, college students and working professionals.

Since we are the best  in Brandon, we are able to be a 'full service' music school. This allows us to offer lessons as early as 9 a.m. and we see many students between the hours of 9 a.m.- 9 p.m. If you are a home school parent, retiree, college student or working professional who has a flexible schedule, take advantage of our early morning and lunch time lesson spots.

9. Month to Month lessons.

The Acadmey does not require semester minimums for lessons. Every student here is on a month-to-month basis.

If you are ready to start, you have nothing to lose as we only want students who truly want to be here and we will not commit you to a long term contract.

Each studio is soundproofed and stocked with everything our students need, parents can sit in on their child's lesson, watch through large observation windows, or relax in our spacious and comfortable waiting area.

Meet the Director

Award winning violinist, Temperance Babcock, has been playing the violin since she was four. She began her formal studies under Jennifer Porterfield in her home town of Ardmore, Oklahoma. At age eleven, Temperance began studying under graduate students at the University of Oklahoma and by fourteen was accepted into the studio of the head violin professor, Felicia Moye. Felicia graduated from the Julliard School of Music and studied under world renowned teacher, Ivan Galamian. Moye also founded the Miami String Quartet. At nineteen, Temperance began to take an interest in bluegrass fiddle which resulted in a move to Nashville, TN, in August of 2003 where she studied and performed with Grand Ole Opry fiddle players Hoot Hester, Kenny Sears and Carl Franklin. Temperance has recorded with members of Kentucky Thunder and has performed with Mac McAnally, Paul Overstreet, Casting Crowns, Dove Award winner, Christy Southerland , and jazz singer, Cassandra Wilson. Babcock has also opened for Ricky Skaggs, Sunny Sweeney, Jake Owens, Restless Heart and Sawyer Brown.Temperance recently played in a televised tribute for the world renowned song writer, Ben Peters, where she performed with Charlie Pride and Grand Ole Opry performer Jimmy Fortune. Temperance’s dynamic trio with MPB’s Grassroots host, Bill Ellison and Jeff Perkins has been featured on radio shows such as the Thacker Mountain Radio Show, the Sucarnochee Revue and MPB’s Mississippi Arts Hour.  You will also see Babcock in the PBS children’s show, Lomax the Hound of Music, as a fiddling bear and cowgirl.
